Sharing a notebook

When you share a notebook in Kyonote, you give a copy. The other person gets their own notebook, with their own practice, their own progress and their own edits. Nothing you do afterwards changes theirs, and nothing they do changes yours.

Why a copy and not a live link

A shared live notebook sounds better than it is. Two people studying the same material want to move at their own pace, add their own files, and get their own questions. A copy gives them that; a link would make one person's tidy-up someone else's disappeared file.

How to actually use it

• Send the notebook, not the file. A notebook carries everything you built on top of the source.
• It's a gift, not a broadcast. Sharing goes to a person or a group you choose.
• Their progress is theirs. You won't see how they're doing, and they won't see how you are.
