DRAFT — placeholder terms of service, founder to replace before launch.
Terms of Service
Last updated: June 16, 2026 (DRAFT)
Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using Kyonote, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the service. These terms apply to all users, including visitors, registered users, and anyone who accesses or uses the service.
Description of service
Kyonote is a study app. You upload notes, PDFs, and other documents into a notebook, and Kyonote generates study materials from them — a two-host podcast, an audiobook, flashcards, a quiz, and a mock exam. Features and availability may change as we continue to develop and improve the product.
Account & eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Kyonote. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate information when creating your account and to keep it up to date. Notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account.
Acceptable use
You agree to only upload study material that you own or have the right to use, and not to upload content that infringes anyone’s intellectual property or other rights. You agree not to use Kyonote for any unlawful purpose, to harass or harm others, to distribute malware or spam, to attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems, or to interfere with the operation of the service. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these guidelines.
Intellectual property
You retain ownership of the notes, PDFs, and other material you upload to Kyonote, and of the study outputs generated from your material. By using Kyonote, you grant us a limited license to process your uploaded material as necessary to generate your study outputs and operate the service. The Kyonote service itself — including its design, code, and branding — is owned by Kyonote and protected by intellectual property laws.
Disclaimers & limitation of liability
Kyonote is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. The podcasts, flashcards, quizzes, and reader text Kyonote generates are produced by AI and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading — they are a study aid, not a substitute for the source material or professional or academic advice, and you should verify anything important against your original sources. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kyonote shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service or reliance on its generated outputs.
Termination
You may stop using Kyonote and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms or if we discontinue the service. Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately. Data deletion follows the timeline described in our Privacy Policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through the app or via email. Your continued use of Kyonote after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We encourage you to review these terms periodically.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Kyonote is established. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that jurisdiction. [Founder to confirm governing law and jurisdiction before launch.]
